So you experience a “The Hyper-V service is not available” and when you try to start this service manualy, you’re getting: “Error 87: The parameter is incorrect.”<\/p>\n

Please note that allthough Windows 2008 is RTM, Hyper-V is still beta. I think it will be released RTM shortly too.<\/p>\n

To fix this please be sure that:
\n– You installed Windows 2008 with ENGLISH language (reinstall if you didn’t do this)
\n– Selected the ENGLISH-US local (follow instructions below on how to fix afterwards)<\/p>\n

1) Open “Regional and Language Options”\u00a0from the controll panel.
\n
\n2) The tab “Formats”\u00a0will be displayed, select “English (United States)<\/p>\n

\n3) Click on the “Administrive” tab and click “Change System Locale”, select “English (United States)” in the popup<\/p>\n

4) \u00a0Don’t restart YET after pressing OK<\/strong><\/p>\n

5) When returning to the “Administrive” tab, press “Copy to reserved accounts”<\/p>\n

6) Select “Select both checkboxes” in the popup you will receive:<\/p>\n

\u00a07) Press “Ok”, followed by “Close”\u00a0and reboot the box.<\/p>\n
