You experience the following result:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When browsing to the webinterface using <a href=\"http:\/\/ipaddressesx\/\">http:\/\/<em>ipaddressesx<\/em><\/a>, you receive a &#8220;Page cannot be displayed&#8221; error.<\/li>\n<li>When browsing to the webinterface using <a href=\"https:\/\/ipaddressesx\/\">https:\/\/<em>ipaddressesx<\/em><\/a>, you receive a SSL security warning and then\u00a0\u00a0a &#8220;Page cannot be displayed&#8221; error.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The server didn&#8217;t update his hosts file correctly, solve it using the following steps:<br \/>\n1) Log on to the server console (using the server&#8217;s keyboard or SSH)<br \/>\n2) Open the hosts file using a texteditor: <em>nano \/etc\/hosts<br \/>\n<\/em>3) Make sure there&#8217;s a <em>localhost <\/em>entry and an hostname entry, a little example:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p># Do not remove the following line, or various programs<br \/>\n# that require network functionality will fail.<br \/>\n127.0.0.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 localhost<br \/>\n192.168.1.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ESX_TESTLAB<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>4) Exit the editor using CTRL-X, save your changes with Y.<br \/>\n5) Visit the VMware ESX webaccess using your favorite internet browser on your client.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pieter.wigleven.com\/it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/11\/putty2.JPG\" alt=\"Putty\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After installing VMware you cannot access the Webinterface?
